FRAME OF THE MONTH – April 2026
Tentatively titled “A Humble Suggestion”
Very tentative title, though. You might have your own title in mind, and we respect that.
While it might seem like an April frame of the month ought to be Easter eggs and bunny ears–nahhhhhhhhhhh. That’s how the corporate world has co-opted April. What we’re offering is a different sort of April sensibility: one that actually feels cathartic and somehow comforting to work with. Although, it would look pretty fetching with a set of bunny ears attached (just a thought).
Having taken a cue from the way that makers use our mini metal frames, we’ve created a guillotine that functions nicely when added to larger compositions and tapestries. It can also work as a stand-alone anchor for weaving, macrame, beadwork, knitting, and crochet. Just add blood! Or maybe a slogan or two! Or maybe some pretty botanicals need to be growing around it! Or maybe it’s just posed as it is on a shelf to offer a reminder that heads will roll.
This frame is lightweight and comes in two parts: a “blade” (in scare quotes because it is not sharp. We’ve purposely dulled its edges and points); and a guillotine. The total height of the piece is 10” and total width is 6.” It’s plasma cut from our custom sketch with powder coated steel (10 gauge thickness).
Hope you enjoy!
